Philips LHH300 DAC prototype43rd Audio Fair, Japan – 1994

This photograph shows a rare Philips reference setup presented at the 43rd Audio Fair in Japan in 1994. The system consists of two components from Philips’ high-end LHH program.

The unit on top is the Philips LHH300 DAC, a prototype digital-to-analog converter that was never released to the commercial market. It was shown exclusively as a reference model, illustrating Philips' ambitions and technical direction in high-end digital audio during the mid-1990s. As such, the LHH300 represents an important but largely undocumented chapter in Philips’ audio history.

Below the DAC is the Philips LHH-A200 amplifier, a production model that was officially released and sold. The LHH-A200 formed part of Philips' most advanced consumer audio lineup and reflected the company's focus on precision engineering, balanced design, and sonic neutrality.

Displayed together, the LHH300 prototype and the LHH-A200 amplifier provide a unique insight into Philips' high-end development efforts at the time.
