July 1990 - The rejuvenated Cambridge Audio company showed a new two-box CD player, the CD3M/DAC3, based on their existing CD3. At around £1000 ($1600), the machine offers the unusual 16 x 16 configuration, in this instance using the highest "Crown" grade of Philips DACs, plus dedicated power supplies and a passive volume control.
